WHAT IS MAGNETOMETRY?

 

Magnetometry is a potential field technique that measures variations in the Earth's magnetic field. These variations can be caused by buried objects such as drums and storage tanks, as well as by various mineral deposits and geological structures. 

HOW DOES MAGNETOMETRY WORK?

El uso del magnetómetro consta de un recipiente con grandes cantidades de átomos de hidrógeno que son excitados por un campo magnético producido por una bobina. Una vez interrumpido ese campo generado, hay una interacción entre los átomos y el campo geomagnético local. Al medir la frecuencia de oscilación de los espines proporciona una intensidad del campo del sitio conocida como campo magnético total.
